Insurance Company with offices in League City is searching for Lead Java J2EE Web Developer to work on their development team building full life cycle web applications and automating processes for insurance business systems.

Remote Work:

This company is open to onsite or remote candidates.  100% remote will be considered for candidates outside of the Houston, Texas area.

About project:

The Lead Java J2EE Web Developer will develop, design, implement and support software solutions and systems within web-based applications.  These applications support products for Life, Annuity, Health and Disability for internal staff, agents and customers.

  • 50-100% New Development         
  • 0-50% Support and Maintenance

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS or equivalent experience - required

Requirements:

  • Experienced building full life cycle software systems to include gathering requirements, prototyping, testing, QA and deployment of web applications.
  • 5 to 10 years of web-based software development environments.
  • Experienced developing single-page applications with Angular 2+.
  • 2+ years of experience developing UI components in JavaScript, Typescript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experienced with J2EE development preferred. 
  • Experienced with JavaScript build tools preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve problems in a production environment and extend functionality within current web and mobile based applications
  • Develop new solutions and systems
  • Understand how and when to incorporate technologies to provide the very best service in response to business needs
  • Acquire and assimilate knowledge about current systems both to understand the relationship to business needs and objectives and to understand the dependencies between systems
  • Design, develop, test and deploy Java web services and applications running on IBM WebSphere Application Server

  • Strong written, verbal, customer service and analytical skills are necessary
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change in a more than satisfactory manner

On-Call Rotation:

  • Must be able to work occasional night and weekend hours when required. 

Additional Information

  • Candidate must have the proof of the right to work in the United States

This company prefers the candidate to work either in League City, Galveston, Texas or Springfield, Missouri.
