Company with offices in League City, Texas, Galveston, Texas, Springfield, Missouri and/or Glenmont, New York is searching for a Junior Java Web Developer with Angular 2+ experience to work on their development team building full life cycle applications and automating processes for insurance business systems.

2 positions available - candidate will be given a technical assessment.

About project:

Junior Java Web Developers will work on insurance business systems.  Depending on office location and product assigned, the candidate will be responsible for new development, support and maintenance over the next few years of some of their crucial new insurance business systems being implemented in the company.

  • 50-100% New Development             
  • 0-50% Support and Maintenance

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, CIS or equivalent required

Requirements:

  • Experience with the full product life cycle including requirements gathering, prototyping, testing, QA and deployment
  • 1 year of Java development experience in web-based software development
  • Experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS and Angular 2+
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodology
  • Database experience with DB2 and SQL Server databases; ability to verify and create complex views, queries and stored procedures
  • Experience with the full product life cycle including requirements gathering, prototyping, testing, QA and deployment

Additional Experience Preferred:

  • Having Java and J2EE programming experience
  • Experience with agile development (scrum)
  • Experience with GIT and TFS
  • Experience with non-functional requirements such as software security risks and remediations, implementing OWASP recommendations, application performance, code-reuse, etc.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

Additional Information

  • Candidate must have the proof of the right to work in the United States

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range $70-97K – depending on experience
  • 9/75 hour work week – get every other Friday or Monday off
