Financial Services Company in Southwest Houston is searching for a Senior Infrastructure Application Engineer with a good understanding of infrastructure, automation, DevOps and application support.

Job Summary:  

This company needs a Senior Infrastructure Applications Engineer who can provide comprehensive engineering services and leadership on complex projects and initiatives. Competent to work at the highest technical level of systems activities. Able to provide training, mentorship and guidance to less experienced professionals.  Experience in DevOps automation using SCORCH, PowerShell or other tools is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred 

Technical Skills:

    Typically requires 5-8 years of related work experienceinDevOps automation using SCORCHandPowerShell.

Job Description: 

  • May write code using lower-level and/or higher-level languages 
  • Develops and/or modifies systems for use internally 
  • Conducts requirements gathering and analysis 
  • Supports testing, deployment, and maintenance activities
  • Implements strategies to increase reliability and decrease cost 
  • Maintains processes for internal operational effectiveness 
  • Develops, implements and supports a variety of technologies 
  • Maintains excellent working relationship with 3rd Party vendors 
  • Maintains centralized reporting and management for applications and services 
  • Implements strategies to increase reliability and decrease cost for technologies 
  • Documents environments and check accuracy 
  • Implements processes for internal operational effectiveness and continuous improvement 
  • Ensures data confidentiality, integrity, and availability 
  • Provides technical guidance to service partners as needed 
  • Participates in 24x7x365 enterprise operational support as required 
  • Provides support to remote data center facilities as requested 
  • Generates reports from information gathered from metrics 
  • Assists with preparation of documentation, user guides, and training materials. 
  • Assists with communication of process changes, enhancements, and modifications so solutions are understood 
  • Exhibits working knowledge of enterprise server, storage and networking hardware and technologies, Enterprise level IT processes and procedures such Ticketing, Change Control, and other ITIL processes 
  • Work with R&D of new designs and technologies, monitoring/improving systems performance and maintaining disaster recovery readiness and procedures 
  • Work closely with the Operations teams to identify gaps and implement solutions to drive improvements in reliability, performance and availability 
  • Maintain systems health to ensure reliability 
  • Provides working knowledge of application virtualization in an enterprise environment
  • Ensures proactive monitoring, alerting, reporting, and patching for all systems 
  • Provides working knowledge in enterprise monitoring 
  • Candidate must have proof of the right to work in the United States.
